Berceuse & finale!

It was a beautiful day on Wednesday May 11! Musicians joined one by one at Pittsburgh's historic Market Square in the scintillating buildup at the end of Stravinsky's masterpiece. Featuring PSO's David Sogg in the bassoon solo, and John Tanuska in the horn call that grows into the tutti with two harps, bass drum and triangle, strings, winds, and brass—a 40-strong orchestra. Arranged and conducted by Federico Garcia-De Castro

The Firebird Flashmob illustration was drawn for the PFNM by Chilean artist Tomas Ives.
